Levon Kendall
Keynote Speaker, Musician, Philanthropist
Former Professional Basketball Player
Born and raised in East Vancouver, Levon has travelled the globe for the last fifteen years, living his dream as a professional basketball player.

He was a former collegiate star at the University of Pittsburgh and academic All-American with a BA in Anthropology. He has represented Canada in over 110 international games, boasting two world championship appearances and winning a bronze medal as team captain at the U-21 World Championships in Argentina.

Levon played professionally from 2007-2016 in Greece, Spain and Germany, competing in Europe’s elite leagues. He has played in 25 countries throughout his career with the national team and European competitions.

Off the court Levon has become a musician, philanthropist, permaculturalist and father. He released his first EP "Destined For The Road" in 2014. He sponsored and helped organize The Boom Boom Block Parties, which grew into East Van Summer Jam, as fundraisers for his foundation, The Music Tree. This concept used music and community to raise funds for environmentally- conscious initiatives in various parts of the world. Including providing funds to support a resource/recycling centre in Nairobi, Kenya, and planting fruit trees in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

Since retiring from professional basketball Levon has received a certificate in permaculture design and started an edible landscaping company: Foodscape. Their mission is to create local, secure food sources for residents in the Lower Mainland, thereby improving the health, wealth, and ecosystem we all share.

Levon is able to speak in depth on the importance of sports, health, sustainability, career changes and what it means to be the father of a cancer survivor. Through his experiences pursuing his basketball dream and his thirst for knowledge he has countless stories of triumph and defeat, the countries and people encountered and lessons learned that are sure to inspire.
