Dynamic New Country Sound Intense Country with a Rock Footprint
Sass Jordan if she sang country
Carrie Underwood if she sang rock
With lipstick, dynamite, and a roll of the dice, Orchard Sky continues to deliver foot stomping singles you want to turn up to eleven. Their lasest single released January 2023, featuring Clayton Bellamy, is called "Rollin' 7s".
Emerging out of the Edmonton music scene, the group’s long time musical collaborators
Mitch Smith and Andreas Wegner were in search of a new lead vocalist, when they
struck gold in landing two-time Western Canadian Music Award winner Krystle Dos
Santos. Along with her stunningly soulful voice, she brings to Orchard Sky a powerful
stage presence that has also been displayed in productions of Dreamgirls, and The
Chelsea Hotel: The Songs Of Leonard Cohen.
If you grew up in a Canadian small town, you can relate to Orchard Sky’s debut single
“Canadian Party Song”. Riding in the back of a pickup truck. Drinking out of red solo
cups. It is easy to see why Rogers SportsNet decided to use the song during last year’s
NHL Playoffs and the Battle Of Alberta. “Canadian Party Song” is a Canadian anthem
that makes you want to stamp your feet and show off your Canadian pride.
That same attitude and pride can be heard in the band’s latest single “Rollin’ 7’s”. An
anthem for those who make their own luck and don’t give a damn, “Rollin’ 7’s”
showcases a sound that has been described as “Sass Jordan if she sang country” and
“Carrie Underwood if she sang rock”.
Orchard Sky has something for everyone. "Canadian Party Song" is just the first taste from their debut EP, with other foot stomping tracks like "Rollin' 7's" "Flashbang" and the heartfelt "Honest".
"Canadian Party Song comes to us with an impeccable instrumental, in the most intense line of country, but with a rock footprint, no doubt. Leaving the composition in an instrumental parallel between Lynard Skynard and Trace Adkins, but with an extraordinary originality and intense, powerful vocal lines with melodies that just won't leave our heads" - Roadie Music
